In one of the most frequently cited verses in the New Testament, God calls us to make disciples of every nation. In his sovereignty, God has brought the nations here to Charlotte, and we can obey God’s call in the Great Commission right here in our own backyard by loving our neighbor and discipling our brothers and sisters in the context of a local church body.
Jesus transforms lives. He brings light into darkness, truth into lies, and life where there once was death. Our only proper response is to praise him with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength and to share our testimonies of what he has done. We long to pursue God’s Kingdom here in Charlotte and to all the ends of the earth, and we praise him for bringing us into the good work that he is doing right here in our own city.

Pastor Jonathan and his wife Kathryn moved to Charlotte in 2018 to attend Reformed Theological Seminary, but God had much more in store than a course of theological studies. Without knowing anything about the city of Charlotte, they bought a house in a neighborhood of refugees and immigrants, and from there, the doors to the refugee and immigrant communities in Charlotte opened wide for them.
Throughout their time doing organic neighborhood ministry, it became evident that Charlotte needs more church bodies reaching first and second generation refugees and immigrants. There are unique strengths and challenges in these communities that the Lewis family found extremely compelling.
In 2023, God led them to join forces with this local body to disciple and evangelize the many peoples from all nations here in Charlotte. They are passionate about seeing a multi-ethnic body of believers, united by Christ, pursuing the Kingdom of God in our city.
Jonathan holds an MDiv as well as a Masters in Christian Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary, and Kathryn has a Masters in Teaching Classical Education from Eastern University in PA.
In his free time, you will find Pastor Jonathan working with his hands, growing his vegetable garden, or hiking in the mountains. He is always ready to meet you, hear your story, and talk about the Gospel together.
