Biblical Counseling at CCBC
Here at CCBC, we know two things to be true: that we are a broken people, and that God is a great healer. But how do our people actually experience the healing and peace of God in every aspect of their lives?
Does the gospel truly transform our marriages, our parenting, our friendships, our vocation, our education, our use of technology, our finances? How can we be healed from addictions? How can our sexuality experience the freedom that Christ brings?
Many in our congregation have experienced the upheaval of moving to a foreign land—how do we integrate our faith with the secular American life that we face at school, at work, and on college campuses? How does the Bible provide the wisdom we need to assimilate into American culture—with all of its temptations and challenges. How does Jesus change everything?
At CCBC, we work with trained Biblical counselors to help our members bring all of life under the Lordship of Jesus and experience his healing in every domain. Our counselors work closely with our church leadership to shepherd and disciple members into deeper flourishing in Jesus Christ and to train church members to serve as lay counselors that are equipped to help one another apply God’s truths to the challenges of life. We believe that nothing is so broken that God cannot restore and heal it for his people.
In Isaiah 57, God says, “I have seen [my people’s] ways, but I will heal him; I will lead him and restore comfort to him. . .peace, peace, to the far and to the near.” Our desire is to walk with you in experiencing this life-transforming peace that Jesus himself offers to his people so that in turn, you can be equipped to walk with others in bringing Shalom to a broken world.
